A couple from up country have come up with a heartwarming way of keeping in touch with their Cornish granddaughter during lockdown.

Two year old Bø from St Issey and her grandparents have not seen each other for a year.

Former teacher Sally and her husband Paul, who live in Leicestershire, have been making sure they have regular video chats.

They cover everything from playing bug bingo to taking the tot on their nature walks and recording her favourite stories.

Mum Jess Stanton says little Bø is always asking for "granny on the laptop".

"She'll have her captivated for sometimes up to an hour which is amazing since she's only two.

"That gives us a lovely little break and keeps their connection alive because that was their biggest fear - that she would forget who they were".

Jess has described her in-laws as an inspiration and hopes their story will inspire others, missing loved ones during the pandemic, to find creative ways of keeping in touch.

"I'm sure every grandparent out there is absolutely distraught at not being able to see their grandchildren and what Sally does inspires other people.

"I hope this inspires other people as well in terms of different and exciting ways to keep that connection alive".
