Massive gorse fire near Redruth burned through the night
Firefighters from across west Cornwall were called to the Wheal Uny area after Critical Control received more than 80 999 calls

Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed a huge gorse fire near Redruth was burning through the night.
Crews from Tolvaddon, Hayle, Helston, St Dennis, Truro, Falmouth, St Just rushed to the scene in the Wheal Uny area just after 9.30pm on Saturday (24th April).
Critical Control received more than 80 emergency calls, with locals saying they could see the smoke from across the Camborne, Pool and Redruth area.
The blaze engulfed an area spanning 400m, was being fanned by strong winds and was close to high voltage power lines.
Western Power and South Western Ambulance Service were also scrambled, however there have been no reports of any injuries.
On Sunday morning, Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service confirmed one team remained at the scene monitoring hotspots: "At 2130hrs Critical Control in Tolvaddon received the first of 84 repeat calls reporting a gorse fire in the Wheal Uny Area of Redruth.
"On arrival crews stated a large fire with a 400 metre front.
"Appliances from Tolvaddon, Hayle, Helston, St Dennis, Truro, Falmouth, St Just and two Flexi Duty Officers attended.
"Crews fought the fire throughout the night and there is currently one appliance on scene monitoring hotspots.
"This is all the information we currently have and the news desk will be updated throughout the day".

One fire engine is stillon the scene damping down but it is under control.
