A man in his 30s from Redruth has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and he remains in police custody.

Superintendent for West Cornwall, Ian Thompson, said: "As a result of information which has come to light through investigative enquiries a fourth person has been arrested in connection to this incident.

"Detectives from the Major Crime Investigation Team continue to carry out enquiries and searches in the Redruth area and urge anyone with information, or relevant footage, to please report it to us if you haven’t yet done so.

Officers were called to the area of Drump Road at around 6.30pm on Thursday 6 July after receiving a report of a serious assault within a property in the area.

A man in his 30s sustained a gunshot wound to the back which is being treated as a life-threatening injury. He was taken to hospital where he is now said to be stable, and no longer in a critical condition.
