Police have issued a fresh appeal to try and find a man who is wanted in connection with a robbery in Plymouth.

Despite a number of potential sightings being reported, officers want the public's help to try and locate 34-year-old Darren Abbott.

Police continue to investigate a robbery that occurred on the evening of Friday 20th August at outside the Co-op on Embankment Road in Plymouth, where a 50-year-old woman had her bag and cash stolen whilst using the cashpoint.

Investigative Officer Detective Constable Pablo Beckhurst said: “The robbery on Embankment Road was particularly nasty. The victim was dragged across the floor leaving her with cuts and bruises; unsurprisingly our victim remains shaken after such an ordeal.

“Darren Abbott is wanted in connection to this incident, and we have released his image in attempt to locate him. Abbott has been sighted in the Greenbank and Cattedown areas and has links to the North of Plymouth and it is vital that we locate him.”

Abbott is described as a white male and is around 6 feet tall with short brown hair, short beard, blue eyes and of medium build. He has a number of visible tattoos on his neck and arms including a tattoo of a rose down the left side of his neck.

If you have seen Abbott know of his current whereabouts, please do not approach and immediately call 999 quoting crime reference CR/071651/21.
