Zavy's owners say his collar and tracker were found in the middle of the road, near to a small amount of blood

There are fears that a large, rare cat may have been stolen near Truro.
Zavy is a two-and-a-half-year old Savannah cat who weighs around NINE kilos.
The Savannah is a crossbreed of a domestic cat with an African Serval.
He went missing in the Threemilestone area, near DFS and the Park and Ride, in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Zavy was wearing a reflective collar with a phone number and address; there was also a tracker attached to the collar.
Zavy's owners found the collar and tracker, which are said to be difficult to remove, in the middle of the road. A small amount of blood was discovered nearby too.
They fear he may have been stolen and the incident has been reported to police.
They say they are 'devastated' and that Zavy 'deserves to be safe and happy with his family',
A reward is being offered for any information that leads to his whereabouts.
"When Zavy didn't come home that morning, we were able to check the tracker. The tracker stated he was on the road between DFS and the Park and Ride Threemilestone. We immediately went to check, the collar and tracker was found where the tracker had shown (on the chevrons between the two lanes). But no Zavy to be seen. The collar was not an easy one to pull apart, yet it was open, the collar and tracker is intact, no damage. It must have been removed by hand as where it was found there were no bushes/undergrowth to get stuck in.
"There was a small amount of blood not far from where the collar was found, so he may have been injured. At that time we were responding through an emotional sense of urgency and searched the area from 08:30 that morning. We got home and tried to respond by phoning Vets, cat protection, Facebook etc, to no avail.
"To date we have not heard anything, piecing all this together, we believe he has been stolen. We are devastated, he is our warm gentle giant, and we are struggling with not knowing where he is, we are trying to manage our thoughts relating to this and have been trying to access external support in order to get his face known and make him too hot to handle. He is a cat of routine like most, and we know he will be really distressed."
They added: "Please if you have any information could you pass it on. We are offering a reward for any information that leads to his where abouts alive or dead. He deserves to be happy with his family and safe."
