Eden to host Big Jubilee Lunch to honour Her Majesty's 70-year reign
The Biomes are at the centre of Big Lunches taking place across the UK
The Eden Project will be celebrating the Queen's Platinum Jubilee with their Big Jubilee Lunch which will bring people across Cornwall together to enjoy live music, food and games.
The Eden Project will be decorated with colourful bunting and flags as part of the official Queen's celebrations, encouraging people to bring picnics to enjoy with their families.
Lindsey Brummitt works for the Eden Project and hosted the Queen when she visited for a Big Lunch in 2021.
She said: "This year super exciting that we'll be The Big Jubilee Lunch. We know that when people build those communities it goes on to help those communities to do more together so people volunteer more, people feel less lonely, less isolated and people make friends through the Big Lunch which is a really simple concept".
Visitors attending the event are being encouraged to take part in Sunday's Big Jubilee Lunch by bringing their own food and enjoying a picnic with their family, friends and new people from the community.
People are invited to either pull up a chair at a long table in the centre of the Arena or pick a spot on one of the provided picnic blankets.
There'll also be a range of craft activities on the day, creating a colourful Big Lunch artwork, as well as make Jubilee-themed magnets and bunting.
Peter Stewart, Chief Purpose Officer of the Eden Project, said: "We're truly honoured that The Big Jubilee Lunch is an official part of Her Majesty The Queen's Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
"This year promises to be the biggest and best Big Lunch ever and Eden will be at the very heart of the festivities.
"We can’t wait to welcome the community from far and wide to Eden on Sunday June 5, for what promises to be a special occasion to bring people together, share food and friendship, and commemorate the 70 years of devoted service of Her Majesty".
