There will be overnight closures on part of the A30 in Cornwall this week.

National Highways are shutting the road from Chiverton to Scorrier junctions from 8.00pm - 6.00am on Monday 17 April and Tuesday 18 April.

It's so vegetation clearance work can be carried out at various locations along the closed section of road. Diversion routes will be in place.

These closures will then be followed by a weekend road closure from Chiverton to Scorrier junctions from 8.00pm on Friday 21 April to 6.00am on Monday 24 April.

A number of works are being carried out, including the construction of a new road crossover in preparation for switching to a contraflow system in May.

Teams are also excavating the road to undertake utility diversions, including a trench across the carriageway.

A section of the B3284 south of the A30 will also be closed during the weekend for road realignment works.

Drivers are being urged to plan ahead and allow a little extra time for journeys.
