There are concerns that the roof of a derelict hotel in Cornwall could collapse.
An emergency road closure has been put in place along Church Lane in Mevagissey through until Friday (25th March).
The Hollies building is currently empty and is described as being in a 'dilapidated and dangerous condition' but it is set to be renovated and turned into apartments.
Cornwall Councillor for Mevagissey and St Austell Bay, James Mustoe, posted on Facebook: "There is an emergency Road Closure in place on Church Lane due to an issue with the Hollies building, crane is going in again. They are just processing the paper work for it now."
The emergency road closure has been put in place by Demolition South West and reads: "Abandoned hotel roof in danger of collapse. Inspection needed to make safe."
Orchard Dean Developments has taken over the site, and describes The Hollies as an "important historic feature in the village".
It says on its website: "Built in the mid 1700’s, The Hollies was originally a private residence and latterly operated as a hotel. In recent years it has been left derelict and is now in a dilapidated and dangerous condition.
"The Hollies is now to undergo a full renovation and restoration to its former glory.
"The plans include converting the old building into four separate residential properties; two maisonettes and two apartments, each with three bedrooms. An additional eight maisonettes/apartments will comprise The Hollies new build next door."
