A cyclist has suffered potentially life-threatening injuries after a crash near Bude.
A bike and a car collided on the A39 at Box's Shop on Sunday afternoon.
Paramedics and police were called to the scene and the cyclist, a man in his 70s, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital.
The road was closed for hours and anyone who saw what happened is asked to contact officers.
"Police are appealing for witnesses of a collision between a cyclist and a car on the A39, Box’s Shop, Bude, during which the cyclist sustained serious injuries.
"The incident occurred at around 2.55pm yesterday afternoon, Sunday 6th September.
"Paramedics, including an off duty surgeon, gave the cyclist, a man in his 70s, emergency care at the scene and he was subsequently flown to Derriford Hospital for treatment for life threatening/changing injuries.
"Specialist officers from the Roads Policing Strategic Alliance carried out extensive investigations, which involved closing the road for several hours.
"Officers spoke to a number of witnesses but police are keen to hear from anyone else who witnessed the incident or has dash camera footage which might assist them in their investigations."
