11 new 'Community Pride' events to be held in towns across Cornwall
Organisers says it's to help bring people together and celebrate 50 years of Pride in the UK

There is going to be a series of new 'Community Pride' events across Cornwall this summer.
Cornwall Pride says it is to help bring LGBTQ+ and marginalised people together in towns across the Duchy.
11 events will be held in total, from Penzance to Bude and St Ives to Saltash, and each will have its own theme. The first one will be held in Falmouth and kicks off in May.
Organisers say it is their own very special recognition and support of Pride's 50th anniversary of the very first Pride in London June 1972, marking 50 years of the Pride movement here in the UK.
A Cornwall Pride spokesperson said: "Community Pride is bringing Pride back into the hearts of the community! It was born from the Pride movement where we are all different within our communities, so we are reaching out within one of the most rural places in the UK our Cornwall, Onen Hag Oll (One And All)! This type of project has never been attempted as a Pride anywhere in the world! So, this year “we are doing it, we are really doing it!”
"We must also recognise the struggles of our communities across the globe, and we stand in solidarity with everyone who is oppressed."
They added: "We are looking for our entire community to come together and facilitate the community, support services within each town to raise awareness and support the LGBTQ+ community and all marginalised people here in Cornwall. Alongside creating and sustaining peer to peer mental wellbeing social support & organisational / educational training for Cornwall.
"With us all coming together, we will bring to life the success of the Cornwall Pride in Truro, Newquay & the bus tour to 9 more towns in Cornwall by bringing Prides in Community!"

June 25th - Bude Pride - Younger Persons Education
July 2nd - Camborne - Intersectionality ! Respect !
July 9th - St Austell - Wellbeing
July 16th - Bodmin - Sports and Outdoors
July 23rd - Redruth - Celtic
