If you think you have got what it takes to be a mascot at a theme park then Flambards in Helston needs you!

The attraction is looking to recruit someone to be 'Ferdi the Fox' ahead of the new season.

They say characteristics such as slyness and cunning are not part of the job description and that while foxes are known for their shyness, "timid applicants need not apply".

Whoever lands the position will be responsible for meeting and greeting visitors.

Richard Welby, general manager, said: “Ferdi plays a vital role at Flambards and it’s crucial we get the right person for the job".

What will I have to do?

Richard said: "Ferdi’s main tasks include featuring in selfies, meeting and greeting younger visitors and generally overseeing the enjoyment of all our guests to Flambards.

"However, it’s a demanding job and we need someone pretty special who’s willing to take on the challenge".

The park is looking to recruit around 80 new members of staff in total, with roles ranging from customer service hosts to catering assistants and ride operators.

Richard added: "As well as Ferdi, we are also looking for a great team who need to be well presented, confident in dealing with the public and happy to work in an outside environment.

"It is vitally important for us to get people who understand the importance of quality customer experience, we want everyone that comes to Flambards to have the best day of the week - from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave".

How can I apply?

Flambards is currently looking for ride operators, food and beverage assistants, admissions staff, park care staff and retail-commercial staff.

Its website lists the closing date for all current vacancies as Thursday 31st March.

Application forms can be collected by e-mail by applying to info@flambards.co.uk

Flambards reopens on Saturday 2nd April and is open every day over the Easter holidays, up to and including Sunday 24th April.
