Cornish seals will be joining the festivities on Christmas Day and opening their very own stockings from Santa.

The Cornish Seal Sanctuary have been running their campaign to help spread Christmas cheer to their resident seals, sea lions and penguins.

People have been donating gifts of food, toys and medicine.

Leanne Attwood, fundraising manager, said: "They get very excited. They do actually have 'wish lists' so they write letters to Santa which you can see online and also at the sanctuary. They absolutely love getting their toys, they get fire hoses, different fish, surfboards and hoops. For them it's like a Christmas Day especially for them.

"So things like food, fish, toys, something towards the new pool development project for Fund our Future."

Money donations go towards making their Christmas Day special:

  • £2 buys them fish and other yummy snacks
  • £5 buys them new toys to play with– maybe a ball, a hula hoop, a surfboard or a kayak!
  • £10 buys them essential medication for their ongoing health conditions like eye infections and thyroid issues
  • £20 buys a little part of their new pool development – helping to build their new home!
