A Senior Lead Dental Nurse from Cornwall is raising funds so she can provide dental care for people in disadvantaged communities.
Kitty, who works at Revitalise Dental Centre in St Agnes, is hoping to travel to India next year with the charity, SmileStar.
They were established in 2010 with the aim of providing free, quality dental care to disadvantaged communities in African countries and India, as well as to ex-Royal Marines in the UK.
The trip is self-funded and Kitty needs to raise £4,000 to cover the costs, with the aim of heading out there next September.
She says: "I've always wanted to do aid and charity work overseas, but I've never really had the tools or the skill set to help those sorts of people with what they're going through.
"I've been qualified as a Dental Nurse for the past four years now and I've really, really honed in on my craft. I was nominated last year for Dental Nurse of the Year and made the finals and again also this year, and I feel like now I really have something to give and offer to really help those people who need a little bit of humanity and help."
Whilst out there, Kitty would be working in the local hospitals and out in the community for two weeks, helping as many families as possible.
She adds: "Even if you can't contribute, please just share. Just getting the word out there, that's as good as anything and I'm just hoping for a little bit of support and help and hopefully I can get there and do some great things for some people that really need it."
