After a dreadful fire in October that destroyed the Christmas shop at Cedar Croft, owner Mark Orchard has worked all day and night to get things ready for opening this weekend (26 November).

There will be some changes, as Mark has rearranged the site and set up at one of his greenhouses.

They will be opening every weekend, starting today, from 8.30am - 5.00pm and until noon on Christmas Eve.

In order to support everyone who is feeling the squeeze, Mark says he has made sure of an affordable range of home-grown Christmas trees and has priced at below 2021 levels.

He says: "It’s been full on. I have manged to secure replacement equipment and other growers have rushed to help with netting.

"With all the bad news with the cost-of-living challenges I want to help. I have reduced our tree prices to below 2021 levels – all of us at Cedar Croft want you to have a cracking Christmas with a real Cornish- grown Christmas Tree.

"You will see a few changes. Many of you know that in October a fire broke out in our Christmas shop which has been completely destroyed. Unfortunately, this contained most of our Christmas Stock and some 30 years of our business including assets like signs, tills and equipment.

"We have had a lot of support so really pleased to say we are ready for opening – but we ask that you are patient as we have had to dramatically reformat how we manage.

"Our team are back to help make sure you chose your perfect Christmas tree grown here in Cornwall but please be patient."

You can wander through Cedar Croft's Christmas wonderland and choose your tree. Paths are wide enough for disabled access and well-behaved dogs on leads are welcome.

You can hear all the latest news on the hour, every hour.
