Man arrested after car crashes into bank in Liskeard town centre
Officers say it happened just feet away from a cash point that was being used
A man has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving after a car crashed into a bank in Liskeard.
Police were called to reports of a vehicle colliding with a building on Barras Street on Sunday evening (10th October).
Officers shared a photo of the damage to social media saying it happened only feet away from a cash point that was being used.
A 62-year-old local currently remains in custody.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Police were called to Barras Street, Liskeard, at 6.20pm last night following reports that a vehicle had been in collision with a building.
"Officers attended and carried out enquiries.
"A 62-year-old man from Liskeard was arrested on suspicion of driving whilst unfit through drink/drugs. He remains in police custody at this time."
