Tribute to "perfect dad and grandad" following crash near Camelford

The daughters of a biker who died following a crash near Camelford have paid a heartfelt tribute.

65-year-old Kevin Mansfield, from the St Austell area, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital following the collision with a car on Saturday 24th April.

The crash occurred at around 4.40pm on the B3266 at Broadview, and involved a Suzuki GSX 1400 and a Ford C-Max.

Sadly Kevin died three weeks later on Saturday 15th May.

Now is family have described him as the "perfect dad and grandad", saying he will be missed enormously.

Kevin’s daughters, Hayley and Vanessa, said: “Despite our dad’s brave efforts for 21 days after his accident, aided by the hospital’s expert medical team, it was sadly not to be, and we will miss him enormously.

“Our dad was an avid and highly responsible biker for many years, so this was the last thing any of us could ever have imagined.”

They added: “He was a wonderful dad and supported and encouraged us in everything we did throughout our whole lives.

“Dad had a fantastic sense of humour and we loved to see him walk through the door. He was a perfect grandad, energetic and full of life, and our own children thought the world of him.”
