A biker has suffered a serious leg injury following a crash with a lorry on the A39 in north Cornwall.

Emergency services were called to the St Teath area at around 12.20pm on Wednesday afternoon.

A man in his 40s was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with an injured leg but it is not believed to be life-threatening.

The road was closed for hours and anyone who saw what happened, or who has dashcam footage, is asked to contact officers.

"Police were called to the A39 at St Teath near Bodmin this afternoon at around 12.20pm with a report of a collision between a lorry and a motorcyclist.

"The incident involved a silver Yamaha motorbike and a white Volvo HGV.

"The motorcycle rider, a man in his 40s, was airlifted to Derriford Hospital with a serious leg injury, not reported as life-threatening."

Any witnesses of the collision, or anyone who was in the area and saw either vehicle driving prior to the incident, or has relevant dashcam footage, is asked to contact police on 101 or via email at 101@dc.police.uk quoting log 436, 30/6/21.
