Meet the woman who spreads joy to shoppers by singing over the tannoy at a supermarket in Cornwall.

Tracey Henry works at the Asda store at Hayle Harbour and is a big hit with customers and her colleagues.

The 45-year-old is well-known for her fun announcements and her impromptu renditions of Whitney Houston and Tina Turner songs, as well as singing Happy Birthday to customers and colleagues.

Store manager Paul Morris says Tracey is a one of a kind and would like to thank her for the way she raises spirits in the store, which has been really appreciated during the pandemic.

"Tracey's an extremely bubbly, chatty and funny lady with a great sense of humour and she's always got a big smile on her face.

"Customers and colleagues here just love her – everyone knows her in the town.

"When it's a colleague or customer's birthday or a wedding anniversary, Tracey will make sure they get an announcement over the Tannoy with a bit of singing. She's not a bad singer either – much better then me anyway!

"She's great too at telling customers of all the offers we have in store. She can sell ice-cream to the Eskimos that one!"

Tracey, who moved to Hayle five years ago after previously working at the Wembley store in London, said: "I love my job and I love making people smile – and I love singing! Whitney Houston and Tina Turner are my favourites.

"If anyone has a celebration I will make an announcement. I'll just get their name and sing Happy Birthday. Everyone loves it.

"When I'm singing on the Tannoy it makes the customers more relaxed. They see how friendly we all are here and that we are there for them.

"We are such a friendly store here and the colleagues all work together as a team."
