Almost half of coronavirus related deaths in Cornwall happened last month alone, according to Cornwall Council.

Officials have revealed that at the end of January, 324 people had died since the start of the pandemic.

641 new cases were recorded in the seven days before and 154 patients were being treated in hospitals.

"Around 44% of all of Cornwall's Covid deaths have occurred since January 1st, 2021.

"Fortunately, cases are beginning to decline but we all need to do our bit to make sure this number keeps falling.
