It is understood bridges across the A30 in Cornwall could shut on and off for the next five days, due to the G7 Summit.

Temporary closure notices have gone up along the route from Summercourt down to Hayle, including the Avers interchange at Redruth.

They state say that sections will be subject to closures from 9am on Wednesday 9th June until midnight on 13th June.

The signs say it is to "mitigate danger to the public or damage to the highway" due to the G7 event taking place at Carbis Bay.

They also state that the closure notices have come as a recommendation to Cornwall Council from the Chief Officer of Police for Devon and Cornwall.

Devon & Cornwall Police say footbridges will remain open during the three-day summit, however they could be subject to temporary closures at various points.

Information on the dedicated G7 Policing Website says: "Please note that to ensure public safety, between the 9th and 13th June, it may be necessary to close the two footbridges at Summercourt that cross the A30.

"We will endeavour to keep the footbridges open as far as possible".
