266 speeding offences caught in Camborne

Police have been carrying out speed detection work on Kerrier Way

266 people have been caught speeding in Camborne.

Officers were out on Kerrier Way last week. The highest speed they recorded was 57 mph.

On Twitter, Devon and Cornwall Roads Policing Team said: "Drivers on the A3047 Kerrier Way Camborne will have noticed Speed Detection activity recently.

"Between 24th and 30th Oct, 266 offences were recorded with the highest speed being 57mph. Expect further visits.

"Notices of Intended Prosecution are in the post."

In a separate tweet, the team said they detected 30 offences in the space of 45 minutes on the same road - the highest of which was 43mph.

Police say they will continue until there is a reduction in offences.

In 2021, 47 people were killed and 647 people were seriously injured on Devon and Cornwall’s roads.
