19-year-old woman left with black eye after being attacked in alleyway in Liskeard

A young woman has been punched and kicked in an unprovoked attack is Liskeard.

Police say the 19-year-old was approached from behind by a man when walking through an alleyway near to the cemetery one evening.

She was attacked and left with bruising and a black eye when it happened almost two weeks ago.

The suspect fled the scene and police carried out searches but nothing was found.

"Police in Liskeard are appealing for information about an unprovoked attack on a woman which left her with bruising to her face and a black eye.

"Sometime between 7.30pm and 8.40pm on Wednesday 11th November, a 19-year-old woman was walking to work through an alleyway near to Liskeard Cemetery off of Lanchard Lane, when she was approached from behind by a male.

"The male punched her twice in the face and kicked her in the stomach before running off.

"Police attended immediately afterwards and conducted a search of the wider area.

"The suspect is described as a white male of average height and slim build. He was believed to be wearing a red or orange baseball cap and jeans."
