18-year-old woman seriously injured in A30 crash

It happened near to the junction with the B3257 at Plusha

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious two-vehicle crash on the A30 overnight.

Emergency services were called to the scene near to the junction with the B3257 at Plusha at around 9.20pm yesterday (Thursday 10 November).

It involved a red Fiat 500 and a grey Hyundai Kona.

An 18-year-old woman sustained serious injuries and has been taken to hospital.

The road was closed for four hours whilst investigations took place.

A statement from Cornwall Fire & Rescue Service said: "Two appliances from Launceston, a rescue tender from Bodmin and a wholetime group manager from St Austell were mobilised to this incident.

"On arrival a two-vehicle road traffic collision was discovered with one person trapped. Crews used crash rescue equipment to carry out a roof removal to release the casualty."

Witnesses are asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police on 101 with information, quoting log number 749 10 November 2022.

Officers are particularly interested to hear from anyone that has dashcam footage.
