Episode Description
Jazz FM launched in London on 4th March 1990 and in this audio special, we re-live the first day of broadcasting, over thirty years later. The first words were spoken by presenter Diana Luke and the recordings showcase fellow broadcasters Peter Young and George Reid amongst others, alongside the build up to Ella Fitzgerald live in concert from the Royal Albert Hall. To preserve the original recordings, you will hear competitions and advertisers that are long gone - so don't make any phone calls!
