WATCH: Pokemon take on humans in Switzerland as part of a clever marketing campaign

Imagine a giant Pikachu chasing you.

A marketing agency for Basel in Switzerland have released a video which has quickly gone viral.

The video shows people dressed up as Pikachu, armed with Pokeballs taking on unsuspecting citizens of the city which is situated on the border with France and Germany.

Driving around in a white van the rogue Pokemon wreak havoc catapulting a Pokeball at shoppers on a busy street, while they chase others around the city centre holding the huge Pokeball above their head.

The video also shows off the beautiful historic European city from the air as the camera pans over a bridge across the River Rhine while three Pikachu continue to chase someone!

Since being posted on Facebook two days ago the video has already racked up a massive 1.4 million shares and 65 million views.

On the official Basel website they promise 'all digital monster hunters are bound to be rewarded in the historic Old Town'.
