Easter is nearly upon us, so we thought we'd look at some of the weird and wonderful Easter Eggs that are out there, from chilli to avocado, there's something for everyone.
Chilli Egg
A few years ago one restaurant in Surrey created a Chilli Easter egg, which they claimed was so hot its equivalent to 400 bottles of Tabasco sauce in strength. The egg contains three varieties of the hottest chilli peppers and you had to sign a disclaimer and wear protective gloves before you ate it!
Pineapple Egg
Despite it's look, this Easter Egg isn't an ornament, it's a SOLID chocolate, sprayed gold, and shaped like a pineapple. It’s so pretty you almost don’t want to eat it!
Cheester Egg
The cheester egg is made entirely out of cheese! Food blogger Annem Hobson was the brains behind the idea, made in collaboration with London’s Wildes Cheese. The cheese is described as ‘semi hard’ with a ‘crumbly, yet creamy texture’. Unfortunately this year this egg isn't available, but luckily for cheese-lovers there is a new cheese egg available from Asda.
Guinness Egg
This Easter egg is infused with Guinness. Guinness and chocolate what’s not to like? However, unfortunately at the moment it is out of stock on Asda's website. Hopefully it will be available soon!
Avocado Egg
It might look like an avocado but this Easter Egg is entirely chocolate, however that doesn’t stop it being healthy. The dark shell is filled with lots of good stuff like goji berries, bee pollen, almonds nibs, cacao nibs and quinoa.
Marmite Easter Egg
You either love it or hate it! Marmite has created an Easter Egg that combines the saltiness of Marmite with the sweetness of chocolate. Sounds interesting...
Most expensive
Last year the Godiva Giant Atelier Egg set you back £1000. There were only five available, weighing in at 13kg. Each egg was hand decorated with white chocolate butterflies by Godiva’s chef chocolatiers Jean Apostolou and Ilse Wilmots. Sounds amazing!
