Woman seriously injured in Spalding bungalow fire

Emergency services were called to Wygate Road earlier today

A fire in Lincolnshire has left a women with serious injuries.

Emergency services were called to a home in Spalding just before midday today (Sunday 29th January).

It's not known what caused the fire to start.

Lincolnshire Police and the county's Fire and Rescue Service have started an investigation.

Police officers and firefighters remain at the scene in Wygate Road.

A Lincolnshire Police spokesperson released this statement:

"We were called to reports that the mid-terraced bungalow was on fire at 11.59am today (29 January).

"A woman in her 50s has been airlifted to hospital for treatment. Nobody else is reported to have been injured in the fire.

"The cause of the fire is now being investigated.

"Fire crews and officers are still in attendance at the property, and we will remain in the local area today carrying out initial enquiries."
