A driver has been given "words of advice" by police after a wardrobe was spotted hanging precariously out of the back of a car in Hastings.

Officers acted after seeing the car while on patrol.

"Further diligent investigations" led police to believe that the car in question had been "incorrectly loaded".

The motorist and his friend decided to carry the furniture for the rest of their journey after being given "firm words of advice".

Officers wrote on Facebook: "Yes, they really had been driving with it like this."
