A critical incident was declared at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester
Backup generators are being used after a Range Rover has crashed into the wall of a power unit at a hospital in Winchester.
The crash in a car park caused a critical incident to be declared at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital on Thursday.
The power supply to parts of the hospital were affected by the collision and people were urged to only attend the emergency department "if it is an emergency".
A hospital statement statement said: "The power to some areas of the site continues to be affected.
"Our backup generators are running to keep these areas operating safely.
"We are asking people to attend the emergency department only if it is an emergency and people should continue to attend their appointments.
"You can help by supporting us to get your loved ones home as soon as the decision has been made that they are ready to be discharged.
"Our focus continues to be on managing the incident whilst continuing to provide care to our patients. Our priority remains keeping our patients, staff and visitors safe."
A Hampshire police spokesperson said: "We were called at 12.55pm to a report of a car colliding with a building in the car park of the Royal Hampshire Hospital and one person reported minor injuries."
