Police have arrested a man and two teenage boys on suspicion of murder following yesterday’s fatal shooting in Walsall.

One man, aged 18 and two 17-year-olds, were arrested last night following the shooting on Wells Lane, Blakenall, shortly after 5pm.

All three remain in custody.

The victim, a man who was in his 20s, died at the scene. Another man was also wounded and is receiving treatment to his injuries, which are not life-threatening.

West Midlands Police said: "We understand how distressing and alarming incidents of this nature are so there will be an increase in police presence around the area over the next few days.

"Officers will be offering reassurance, so please talk to them if you have any concerns.

"We also have Section 60 powers in use across Walsall until 2pm today (Tues).

"Section 60 powers allow us to stop and search people without the need to have reasonable grounds.
