A person's been seriously injured in a crash at a car meet in Swindon.

Up to 100 cars and 500 people gathered at Hawksworth Industrial Estate last night.

Police officers say one of their cars was damaged and an unknown substance was sprayed at them.

A 22 year old man was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, but police say this was not connected to the crash.

A Wiltshire Police spokeperson said:

“My officers attending were greeted with hostility with the tyres on one police vehicle being damaged and an unknown substance being sprayed onto officers.

“Wiltshire Police is working with partner agencies such as Swindon Borough Council and the landowners in order to reduce future car meets.

“We will also be reviewing video footage of the meet and will be looking to deal with any offences or offenders that are identified.”
