Woman arrested after car set alight with children inside in Leeds

A 19 year old woman's been arrested and bailed on suspicion of arson in Leeds.

It's after an incident at Tong Way in Farnley on Thursday evening when a car was set alight with two children inside.

Police say they received reports at around 10.52pm.

The youngsters were safely rescued from the car by their mother and a neighbour and given a clean bill of health after a check-up by paramedics.

At 10.52pm on Thursday 18 July, a woman reported her car had been deliberately set alight while two her children were still in the vehicle in Tong Way, Leeds.

She and a neighbour brought the children to safety, and they were checked over by ambulance staff with no concerns found.

A 19-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of arson in relation to the incident has been released on bail. Enquiries are ongoing.
