Yellow weather warning as 90mph winds forecast for Northern England, Scotland and Northern Ireland
The Met Office say there could be a 'danger to life'
People in Scotland, the North of England and Northern Ireland are being told to brace themselves for high winds later this week as the Met Office warns of gusts of up to 90mph.
Forecasters have upgraded the weather warnings for Storm Dudley in Scotland which is due to hit in the middle of this week, with a threat to life and more power cuts. For Northern England and Northern Ireland there is a Yellow Weather warning in place on Wednesday and Thursday.
Initially there was a yellow weather warning covering the whole of Scotland, but now the whole of the central belt, Argyll, the south west and Borders have been moved onto Amber alert.
Met Office meteorologist Tom Morgan said: "this whole week is going to see quite a disturbed weather pattern developing across the UK".
They say there is a possibility of "injuries and danger to life from flying debris."
This comes just weeks after storms Malik and Corrie hit the North of England and Scotland killing two people.
Storm Eunice to hit England, Wales & Northern Ireland on Friday
The Met office say, Storm Eunice is likely to affect the UK on Friday which could cause significant disruption including fallen trees, damage to buildings and interruptions to power supplies.
The weather service also tweeted last night urging the public across the UK to stay aware.
They said: "A very unsettled week to come with a powerful jet stream fueling rapidly deepening areas of low pressure.
"This will bring #strong winds and #gales across parts of the country this week 🌬️
"Stay #WeatherAware."
