It sounds more like sketch from the TV comedy show Scot Squad but traffic police pulled over a car on a motorway near Glasgow and discovered £10,000 worth of class A drugs, and a lamb!

The car was stopped on the northbound carriageway of the M74 near Junction 3 at 6.10pm on Saturday.

A tweet posted by the road policing unit showed a picture of the baby sheep standing on the back seat of the car next to an opened bag of chips.

Heroin with an estimated street value of £7,000 was found along with cocaine worth £3,000.

Two men aged 53 and 53, and a woman aged 38, were arrested and charged with drugs offences and have been reported to the Procurator Fiscal.

The driver was also arrested for failing a roadside swap for cocaine.

The drugs were discovered by sniffer dog, Billy, who was also pictured.

The lamb has been taken in by a local farmer as investigations continue into what it was doing in the car.

Police haven't confirmed what make of vehicle it was, only that it wasn't a Lamborghini....
