Scotrail workers vote for strike action during Cop26
Members of the RMT Union voted overwhelmingly in support of strike action over a pay dispute

Members of Scotland's main rail union RMT have today voted to take strike action over a pay dispute.
The Union say the schedule for ballot enables action to take place during the Cop26 climate conference in Glasgow.
Over two thousand RMT members were involved in the ballot which returned a vote of 84% in favour of strike action.
Shortly after the vote the RMT confirmed the following action on both Scotrail and the Caledonian Sleeper.
0001 hours Monday 1st November 2021 until 2359 hours Friday 12th November 2021.
Sleeper staff will take the following strike action;
Sunday 31st October 2021 from 1159 hours until 1158 hours on Tuesday 2nd November 2021
RMT General Secretary Mick Lynch said:
“Today's ballot has been forced on us by the deliberate time wasting by Scotrail and Transport Scotland.
“This issue should have been sorted by now and we should have had a fair and just offer that recognises the hard and important work of our members.
“The result will be considered by our Executive who will decide the next steps but the company should be taking full note of this massive majority for action and we remain available for talks.”
