A Suffolk man who murdered his wife and 12 year old daughter last September has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 40 years.

44 year old Jillu Nash was found dead along with 12 year old daughter Louise Nash at their home in the Heath Estate in Great Waldingfield at around 10am on September 8th 2022.

46 year old Peter Nash was found guilty of both murders last week (12th May).

Firefighters had entered the home after reports of a gas leak, finding Jillu's husband, Peter Nash, lying on the bed next to Louise, holding a knife.

A post-mortem determined Jillu had died from pressure to the neck, while Louise had suffered a stab wound to the abdomen.

Nash, who was found at the scene with serious injuries, was charged with two counts of murder.

He represented himself throughout the trial, having previously told the judge: "In my mind, I know I am not guilty".

The court heard how Nash had discovered photographs of another man in Jillu’s possessions.

When he confronted her about them, he strangled her for 5-10 minutes until she passed out.

He then stuffed a t-shirt into her mouth.

He then sat with Jillu for an hour before deciding to kill 12 year old Louise, who was non-verbal and had complex care needs.

He initially tried to fill the house with gas, but later decided to stab Louise.

The jury at Ipswich Crown Court took just over two hours to convict Peter of two counts of murder on 12th May.
