Pensioner arrested on suspicion of murder in Cheltenham

A pensioner's been arrested on suspicion of murder in Cheltenham.

Gloucestershire Constabulary were called to a report that a woman had been seriously injured at a property on Fairfield Road at around 3:30am on Saturday.

A 66-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are questioning a 77-year-old man, from Cheltenham, on suspicion of murder as enquiries continue.

A scene guard remains in place at a property as officers from the Major Crime Investigation Team begin an investigation.
