Man from King's Lynn charged with attempted murder

A man in his 20's was arrested after an incident in Hockwold

Norfolk police have confirmed that a man has been charged with attempted murder following an incident in Hockwold.

Officers were called just before 9am on Thursday 29th February, after reports that a man had been stabbed in his neck.

The victim, who is in his 80's, was first taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kings Lynn. He was later transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge for treatment, where he remains.

A man in his 20s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder. He was then taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

Ashley Francis, aged 26 and of Whittington Hill, King’s Lynn has been charged with attempted murder.

Francis has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Norwich Magistrates Court this morning.
