Just Stop Oil protestors smear King Charles III waxwork with cake
Two protestors smeared the model in chocolate cake at Madame Tussauds
Just Stop Oil protestors have smeared a waxwork of King Charles III with chocolate cake, in the latest demonstration against plans to award new North Sea exploration licenses.
Eilidh McFadden, 20, from Glasgow, was one of two campaigners who climbed over the rope barrier, before throwing a cake at the model.
They then said: “We are here because we seek to protect our freedoms and rights, because we seek to protect this green and pleasant land which is the inheritance of us all.
"Last year at COP 26 in Glasgow, Queen Elizabeth said 'The time for words has moved to the time for action!'"
Yesterday, protesters threw mashed potatoes at a Claude Monet painting in a German museum, but caused no damage to the artwork.
The painting was the latest artwork in a museum to be targeted by climate activists to draw attention to global warming.
Just Stop Oil also threw tomato soup at Vincent van Gogh's 'Sunflowers' in London's National Gallery earlier this month.
