Holocaust Memorial Day marked across the UK
600 candles are being lit to remember victims of all genocide

The United Kingdom and the rest of the world are today remembering the victims of the Holocaust.
Holocaust Memorial Day is marked every year on the 27th of January.
This is the date on which the Nazi’s largest death camp, Auschwitz-Birkenau, was liberated.
Faith leaders also lit 600 candles to remember the victims of all genocides.
The Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, will also light a candle at the doors of number 10 Downing Street.
The Holocaust Memorial Day Trust will host an online event at 7pm today which you can participate in by clicking here.
The theme of this year’s memorial is ‘One Day’, the hope being that one day there will be no more genocides.
Portraits of survivors
Seven portraits of Holocaust survivors have been commissioned by the Prince of Wales.
Prince Charles hailed the portraits of the survivors as "powerful testament" to their lived experience.
The portraits were unveiled at the Queen’s Gallery in London.
Prince Charles wrote a forward for the catalogue accompanying the exhibit writing we are all,
“Responsible for one another, for our collective history".
