West Midlands Police have arrested two teenagers in connection with the murder of Deavon Harrison in Wolverhampton.

Harrison, 46, was found to be seriously injured by officers responding to reports of gunfire in the Dunstall Hill area of the city.

After being checked over by paramedics who arrived at the area, it was revealed that Harrison had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.

Despite first responders arriving at the scene at 12:50pm on December 30th, nothing could be done to save him and he was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

The force has since launched a murder investigation to determine who it was that killed father-of-seven Deavon.

Earlier in their enquiries, a woman was charged in connection with Deavon's killing. Kerry Francis, aged 42, appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday (January 3rd) and was remanded for a further Crown Court appearance on Thursday (January 4th).

Officers have now arrested two teenage boys in relation to his death. The two boys, aged 16 and 19 were apprehended in Wolverhampton city centre and are currently being questioned by police as they establish their role in Harrison's death.

Speaking on their arrests, West Midlands Police officer Detective Chief Inspector Laura Harrison said that they were satisfied with the current state of their enquiries.

"We are making good progress with our investigation, and are continuing to support Deavon's family," she explained.

"It's still really important that anyone with information who has not yet been in touch speaks to us, so we can build the clearest picture possible of what happened."

Anyone who may have any other information that might be of help to officers is being urged to get in touch with West Midlands Police, quoting the incident with reference number 1778 on December 30th.
