Man charged with murder after father and son shot to death in Cambridgeshire

66 year old Stephen Alderton is also accused of possession of a firearm

A 66 year old man has been charged with two counts of murder - after two people were shot to death in Cambridgeshire earlier this week.

Stephen Alderton, is also accused of possession of a firearm after the attacks on Wednesday night in Sutton and Bluntisham.

He will appear at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court tomorrow morning.

The victims have been named as 57 year-old Gary Dunmore and 32 year-old Josh Dunmore.

In tributes released earlier, the family of Josh and Gary said: “Josh was a devoted father and a loving uncle."

"He was a wonderful son and brother and leaves behind an extensive group of family and friends.

"He will be deeply missed and the devastation this has caused will never heal. We ask for privacy to mourn this loss at this incredibly difficult time.

“Gary was the most devoted son, brother, dad, and grandad, who gave everything for those he loved.

"He was a gentle and generous person who always put others before himself and he'll be massively missed by his family and all those who knew and loved him. “

A man and a woman arrested in connection their murders were released without charge earlier today.
