Brianna Ghey: UK-wide vigils to be held for "strong, fearless" teenager

Candle-lit vigils are set to be held across the UK for a teenage girl who was stabbed to death in Warrington.
16-year-old Brianna Ghey was stabbed multiple times and found dead in Linear Park in Culcheth on Saturday afternoon.
In the coming days, dozens of towns and cities across the UK are set to hold vigils for Brianna. Many have been organised by transgender-rights and LGBTQ+ groups to celebrate her life, although Cheshire police say there's no evidence at this time to suggest her killing was hate crime related.
A boy and girl - both aged 15 remain in custody on suspicion of her murder and are being questioned by detectives.

In a tribute the family of Brianna Ghey said:
"Brianna was a much-loved daughter, granddaughter, and baby sister.
"She was a larger-than-life character who would leave a lasting impression on all that met her. Brianna was beautiful, witty and hilarious. Brianna was strong, fearless and one of a kind.
"The loss of her young life has left a massive hole in our family, and we know that the teachers and her friends who were involved in her life will feel the same.
"We would like to thank everyone for their kind words and support during this extremely difficult time.
"We would like to thank the police for their support, and witnesses for helping with the investigation.
"The continuation of respect for privacy is greatly appreciated."
