Northsound 1 brings Boogie in the Morning to Breakfast

We have some news to share that award-winning breakfast radio show, Boogie in the Morning, is coming to Northsound 1 from 6th January 2025. Boogie in the Morning recently beat national shows to be crowned the UK’s Best Music Breakfast show (ARIAs 2024), and will be expanded to the Aberdeen and North East Scotland as the new weekday Breakfast show on Northsound 1.

This will be a homecoming of sorts for Boogie in the Morning co-host Arlene Stuart who was brought up in Bucksburn and attended Bankhead Academy. Audiences across Scotland love Boogie and Arlene and their Saturday show is hugely popular and is Scotland’s most listened to weekend radio show.

Northsound 1 will continue to broadcast local news, travel and sport, as well as retain our local news reporters. All funds raised for Cash For Kids will remain in Aberdeen and the North East of Scotland to support local vulnerable & disadvantaged children and their families. In addition, the station will continue to run local ads along with many commercial opportunities for local, regional and national businesses to get involved.

Also on our new schedule is a new Scotland-wide early Breakfast show hosted by Gregor & Lynsey. The programme will air every weekday from 4am to 6am across all Hits Radio Network stations in Scotland which also includes MFR, Tay FM, Forth 1 and Clyde 1.

As part of the schedule changes, Grant Thomson, Garry Spence and Callum Gallacher are all getting an extra hour on air as they extend their shows to 10am-2pm, 2pm-6pm and 6pm-10pm respectively.

Greigsy will continue to host Saturday Night Anthems 6pm-10pm and his Sunday morning 9am-12noon show.

Northsound 1’s current Breakfast hosts Jeff and Laren will be leaving after their final shows at the end of December. We share our huge thanks with Jeff and Lauren, who are brilliant broadcasters and wish them all the very best on their last few weeks with us and for everything in the future.
