REVEALED: The Name for the new North East Gritter
The new fleet of vehicles will be helping to keep us moving
Last updated 4th Dec 2023
You helped us name one of the new 32-tonne, eight-wheeled vehicles!
AMEY has a fleet of new vehicles to help keep the North-east moving this winter... and they're looking for your help to name one. These new gritters are some of the largest in the UK – which work hard to keep trunk roads safe and clear.
Gritters which have been named in the past include Gritty Gritty Bang Bang, Sir Andy Flurry, and For Your Ice Only!
We asked you to send in suggestions, AMEY and Transport Scotland shortlisted them to a final five and then you voted for your favourite!
You picked Ploos Yer Doos? - suggested by Wayne Melvin.
The winning name will now be displayed on a gritter based at an Amey depot in the North East of Scotland. Have you spotted it yet?
Who is Amey NE NMC?
