Seaborne and Bannigan leave Partick Thistle

Dan Seaborne and Stuart Bannigan are leaving Partick Thistle.

The Premiership club confirmed the pair were moving on as they updated fans on the status of their out-of-contract players.

Midfielder Bannigan had spoken of his desire for a fresh challenge before suffering a knee injury in March which cast doubt on his plans.

Thistle boss Alan Archibald had promised him a deal if the diagnosis was bad but, after he was told he did not need surgery, the 23-year-old will be moving on after making more than 150 appearances for the Jags. Aberdeen and Inverness have been linked with interest in the former Scotland Under-21 international.

Archibald revealed at the weekend that he was resigned to losing 29-year-old centre-back Seaborne, who spent two seasons in Maryhill.

Thistle are still waiting on decisions from Freddie Frans and Steven Lawless, while Gary Miller, David Wilson and Ryan Scully also remain in discussions over new contracts.

Also leaving the club are under-20s players Chris Duggan, Jordan Leyden, Marc Waters and Scot Whiteside.
