Saints Sign Sadlier

St Mirren have signed Republic of Ireland Under-21 midfielder Kieran Sadlier following his exit from West Ham. The 20-year-old attacking player has joined until the end of the season as Saints look to replace Kenny McLean following his departure to Aberdeen. St Mirren manager Gary Teale told the club's official website: "Kieran has had a good development at West Ham and also being involved with the Irish Under-21 team. "He was very keen to come up to Scotland when I spoke to him before the transfer window closed and negotiated his release from West Ham to come up to St Mirren. "He showed great enthusiasm and ambition that he wanted to play first-team football and hopefully he will be of great benefit to ourselves going forward." Meanwhile, Teale has been issued with a Scottish Football Association disciplinary charge after questioning whether Yoann Arquin was the victim of a premeditated red card. Teale was hit with a notice of complaint for his comments following his side's 2-1 Scottish Premiership defeat by Dundee on January 24. Teale initially complained that Dundee's equaliser was offside and criticised referee Steven McLean for Arquin's dismissal. The former Ross County player was booked for a challenge before receiving a second yellow card for simulation after appearing to stumble over in the penalty box. The red card was Arquin's second in his first three matches for the Buddies, but the first, against Ross County, was rescinded following an appeal by St Mirren. Teale has been accused of breaching rule 72 by "criticising the performance of the match officials in a manner which indicated bias or incompetence on their part". In the offending interview, which was posted on the Scottish Professional Football League's official YouTube channel, Teale said the failure to give offside against Gary Irvine "beggars belief". He then said: "I'm a wee bit cynical in terms of Yoann's two bookings, I thought they were very, very harsh. "I don't know if it was pre-empted by the referees because we had the one rescinded last week, but to book him for the two things that he booked him for, I'm extremely disappointed." Teale later apologised to McLean after recognising Irvine had been onside and also vowed to compose himself before giving post-match interviews. The former Scotland international faces a Hampden hearing on February 11.
