Scotland full-back Peter Murchie has signed a new one-year contract with Glasgow.

Murchie has played 102 games for Warriors since joining from London Welsh in 2009 and the 30-year-old captained the team in their 12-6 win over Leinster on Friday night.

Murchie said: "Glasgow has been my home for the past seven years and I love being here.

"After becoming a centurion this season, I'm looking forward to continuing to represent the club next season.

"I've witnessed huge growth at the club and we're now selling out Scotstoun for the majority of our home games and it's a great place to play rugby."

Glasgow head coach Gregor Townsend, who has allowed full-back Glenn Bryce to join Edinburgh in the summer, added: "Peter has made a huge contribution to the club over the last seven years, so it's great news that he's staying with us.

"He sets the standard for the squad in how to conduct yourself as a professional and works very hard to improve as a rugby player.

"We expect him to continue to play a big role at the club next season."
