Liam Polworth spurned a late chance to break the deadlock as Inverness and Partick drew a blank in their Premiership clash. With the home side trialling a 'pay what you can' initiative on a Saturday for the first time, few spectators would have gone away satisfied following a tepid encounter. Chances were at a premium throughout the contest in the Highlands and neither team could lay claim to deserve the three points. Substitute Polworth had the chance to send the Inverness supporters home happy but his late opening only resulted in a shot into the side-netting. Inverness made one change to the side that beat Stirling Albion in midweek as Polworth was dropped to the bench with his place taken by Carl Tremarco. Opponents Thistle made two changes, replacing Liam Lindsay and David Wilson with Frederic Frans and captain Abdul Osman. Both sides had key players commit to new contracts in the build-up to the game, with Tomas Cerny extending his Partick stay until 2018 and Gary Warren staying with Inverness until 2019. Andrea Mbuyi-Mutombo, rewarded with another start after his midweek goal, was in the thick of things early on for Inverness with a shot that clipped the side-netting. He followed that up by playing in Miles Storey but Cerny got down well to save. Pressure kept coming from the hosts with Ross Draper and Storey combining to tee up Iain Vigurs, who whistled his shot over Cerny's crossbar. Thistle were offering little in the way of attacking threat, with Kris Doolan, himself recently committing his future to Partick until 2019, having the best chance, firing straight at Owain Fon Williams. A Draper chance, this time from a deep David Raven cross, should have put Inverness ahead at the break. Challenges were flying in at the start of the second half, keeping the game interesting. Draper, Osman and Mbuyi-Mutombo were all putting themselves about, with a challenge from the Thistle skipper on Mbuyi-Mutombo leaving him writhing in agony. Alan Archibald's visiting side were refusing to commit men forward, often leaving Doolan isolated up top and struggling to offer any involvement in the game. Sean Welsh dragged a tame shot wide in their solitary chance before the 75th minute. Storey came close to giving the home crowd something to cheer about with a thunderous 35-yard effort that Cerny did well to tip over the bar, before Polworth went close in the closing minutes.
