Aberdeen have confirmed the signing of Celtic youngster Adam Montgomery on a loan deal until the end of the season.
It is understood that the Dons have beaten Kilmarnock and several English clubs to the 19-year old's signature.
Montgomery can play at both left back or left midfield and will provide competition for Jonny Hayes on the left flank.
He has played 18 times for Celtic this campaign, as Hoops boss Ange Postecoglou utilised him heavily at the start of the campaign.
Aberdeen boss Stephen Glass told the Aberdeen FC website that Montgomery can make an impact: “We’re pleased Adam has opted to join us at Pittodrie for the rest of the season.
“His arrival will provide some added flexibility to the squad as he can play in a number of positions.
“He is a player with great potential and someone who we feel will add value to the squad for the second half of the campaign.
“The Club has previously enjoyed success with the loan of Ryan Christie from Celtic and we’re confident this move will be as successful.”
Montgomery will go straight into the squad for tomorrow’s meeting with Ross County.
He will return to Glasgow in the summer and is highly rated by Postecoglou.
